Letter received from our first guests!
We have just returned from a wonderful week in the above apartment.
The apartment consists of a double bedroom, and lounge/dining room, twin bedroom, well equipped kitchen and bathroom with over bath shower and bidet .
The apartment has everything you would need for a trouble free holiday. Washing machine and drying line with iron etc are in the apartment, so you can travel lighter ,also things like hairdryer and radio were welcome touches. All towels are changed mid week and bedding at weekends .The welcome pack with tea, coffee, bread, biscuits, milk and cheese was a nice touch as were the fresh flowers and pot plants. REMEMBER to water please!!!
Several good size supermarkets are a few minutes drive away if you really have to cook!!
There is a balcony that runs along the full length of the main bedroom and lounge area, both of which overlook the well maintained pool and garden, perfect for breakfasting and late night wine!!!
When we were there in April the pool being unheated was not for" wimpy" me but the temperature was just starting to climb so would be warmer now. (Even so it did not stop the children making good use of it!!)
The apartment is in a small unit comprising 10 apartments in total and is situated in a quiet residential part of Lagos, only 10 minutes amble along a quiet footpath to the lovely sheltered beach; this part of Portugal is gorgeous with stunning views of the craggy coastline, where every corner has another secluded sandy beach and inlet. Driving along the coast westerly you can still find largely unspoilt fishing villages and whilst eating lunch one day we spotted some dolphins, magical!! .Lagos town is charming with its old town wall and windy streets. Lots of eating places in the town and nice shops for browsing.
Although gradually becoming more developed the area is perfect for couples seeking peace and quiet but also ideal for young families as the beaches are very safe.
Along the afore-mentioned foot path if you turn left across the meadow and cross the road you will arrive at the bar restaurant Camilo .We ate there nearly the whole week ,food is freshly cooked and simply prepared by the extended family who run it .Fresh fish is a speciality and varies on what was available in the market that morning .Things like the Cataplana and seafood rice need 24 hours notice but are well worth it .It gets very busy and booking would be strongly recommended ,the views are gorgeous and the puddings to die for!!
All in all a fabulous place to have a holiday…Highly recommended.
